I AM VERY PROUD AND HAPPY
...to say that yesterday I was "a good mother"!
We started some weeks ago my son and I
talking about making a little house for him above his bed.
I made drawings on how to do it in the best way.
My little boy needs challanges and interresting things to do.
I have not been good enough at offering him this, I feel.
But yesterday was the big day when we finally
bought the material we need for it.
After he comes home from kindergarden today
he will attend "moms building school"
and we will start building it together!

MY COMMISSION RIGHT NOW
...is a private one.
A very special task, indeed.
A lovely man called me up this summer
asking if I could paint his wife.
His wife had recently passed away
and he wanted her portrait in their home.
We got together and talked about it.
I saw pictures of her. Many pictures but not one that was really good.
By being in their home I got a feeling for the ones that inhabitaded it.
I got a feeling for her.
He toled me about her.
I feel I know her a bit now.
By energy gained throught his and mine conversations
and by putting four different picures together
I have come up with a picture to work from.
Now, all that remains is the job of painting this beautiful lady.

A PICTURE FROM MY DESK
Also the picture I use on my computers screen
since I reinstalled everything after a crash some weeks ago.
Much was lost in the crash.
It felt like a fresh start
to start over with a clean, blank computer!

I love what I see here...alltogether!
A yellow house...the idea of this portrait and your beautiful desk.
And I will be back in one week and write more!
Smile and Kram!

Olga, I am so loving this painting commission and the way you talk about it ... getting to know the inhabitants of the house by spending time in it and talking to the man who loved this woman.

I am sure your painting will be beautiful, simply because you are so mindful of wanting to honor the spirit of this woman and this man and the love he had for her.

PS: Is the picture of the portrait you shared in this post (where we see the corner of a woman's sweater) part of the actual portrait you're painting of her? Because I can just tell you ... it is BEAUTIFUL!! You are very talented, my friend! (Though I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that!)

Dear Uschi:
Hoping you are having a lovely time right now in this moment on your journey! Talk to you soon!

Dear Christianne:
Yes it is part of the painting I work on that you see here. It is too personal to publish on the internet so I won´t until it is ready - if it is OK with the husband. THANKS for prayers!! Yesterday was a good paintingday. Did much of her face. My son and I waved goodmorning to her today when we were having our breakfast :-) I paint in the kitchen.
