Behind the flowers
that Brittas sister brought us,
on the plate are those little things
that grow on oaktrees.
They look pretty much like hazelnuts.
The taste isn´t good. It´s bitter.
BUT the aftertaste is like pecan-nuts!!

Nilam, the name of my daugther, backwards...
Taste!
Guess what: exactly the same flowers are standing in my kitchen right now! And did you know, that one can eat the leaves ( but I don't like them so much, very sour!)
Bud I didn't know that acorns are edible??
Hälsa Malin, Qi!
Uschi: We drink water "from the same glass", wearing stripes sweatters... and we have the same flowers at our kitchentables. And one of these days we will be having tea together!
These acorns are edible, if ground to flour and rinsed with water, so that the bitter taste is washed out. I haven't tried it, but learnt that the native people of California prepared them like this.
