I painted this a few years ago.
(oil on canvas 40x50cm)
Now I am painting
the same theme again.

This time I work on six paintings
in the same time.
They are 20 by 20 centimeters.

The challenge is
to paint all of them as a family.
They should look harmonious together
yet each one should be a strong individual.

I already painted one family
of cups of jars.
Some of them are shown here.

And when I have finished these six ones
I will do another six.
Another family...

It is a rewarding and fun job!

Hello,
My name is Brigida. My mother is Anna Britta Browallius, half sister to Irja Browallius. I came across your blog while searching for information on Google about Irja Browallius. I met Irja in 1968 when my mother and I were in Sweden visiting my grandmother. I am not so fluent in Swedish, but I can understand and speak a little bit. Last week I was in Stockholm visiting my mother who lives in Edsatrahemmet in Stockholm. I was born in Stockholm in 1954. My mother was very fond of Irja and spoke lovingly of her. There is a lovely line drawing of Irja in my mother's room. It was drawn by Irja herself who as you already know was a very gifted artist as well as writer. My mother once told me that Irja had met Pearl S. Buck. I have great respect for Irja Browallius and wish that I knew Swedish better so that I could read her published works. I like your paintings. I also love to draw and do artwork.
