Thankyou Liivia!
Yesterday I was listening to music
while
seeing images
while
working with my hands
while
sitting comfortably in our sofa.
And I was feeling completely content.
hangers for my photographs
The music was from here
The images were from here.
The work in my hands was
making nice "hangers"
for my photographs.
The contentment was gained
from having gotten alot of work done
- effectively.
(Sandpapering MDF-boards,
glueing seven pictures on to seven boards,
pressing the pictures on the boards
under heavy books
Painting new boards white.
Glueing little lables
with my name
onto the back
of the boards.
Printing and cutting up extra lables
to last me for a long time.)
To sit down
and enjoy
the present moment
after doing my work
was heavenly!
Liivia -
Your pictures took my mind
to a place where
I felt at home.
To a place where
just everything was right.
There was life, joy and peace
in your pictures
wich flooded over to me.
I looked through your slideshow
in full screen mode
atleast three times.
Thankyou Liivia!

Things
I have new boots!
Hans happened to throw away one of my favourite shoes
(yes, just one of them)
wich I used when interrailing in 1984.
Those were really nice, confortable, high quality, classical,
old shoes - perfect in my taste.
Also I used to have these favouriteboots
wich I bought during outreach with YWAM in Malmö in 1983.
I think those boots might have been
from the end of the 1800-sometime.
I treasured the moments
when my Father used to help me
tie the strings of those boots.
He was good with that!
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
Loosing these shoes made me sad.
However, now I am happy again -
My mother generously took me shoeshopping yesterday.
I found a pair of goretex-shoes,
good for walking the hard streets of Stockholm.
And I found some nicelooking,
dressy shoes suitable for less walking.
Then I saw them - my boots -
like a mixture of my lost, loved shoes
and my old beloved boots!
I could not resist trying them on.
I just wanted to get the feel.
I ´would not buy them. Just dream of them.
It felt so good!
My Mother who saw my smile,
offered me these ones instead of those dressy, nicelooking ones
-wich most probobly would become
worn out and out of fashion very, very soon.
I would like to surround myself
only by souch things that - like these boots -
makes me feel more hole and complete as an Olga.
Finding these boots was finding a lost part of myself.

Hello,
I just fell in love with a book.
It shows pictures by photographer Hans Silvester
taken of beautiful people in two east African tribes;
The Surma and the Mursi tribes.
They live in the floorishing Omo valley
(Ethiopia, Sudan and Kenya)
These pictures do not reflect the true beauty of this stunning book.
It´just a vague hint...
Also, see here and here and here

Please go´n enjoy youreselves here!!!!
Vad har jag lärt idag?
Hur man enkelt får in en stor bild i Bloggen.
Hur viktigt är det - egentligen?
Mer?
Vad har jag lärt mer?
Dagen har gått.
Den är slut.
Hur blev den?
Får jag en ny dag av dig igen i morgon, Gud?
Har du något förslag till mig vad jag ska göra med den?

Hedvigs journey
A couple of years ago
I made an empty book
that I named Hedvig
and sent her out on a long, long journey...
It spent some time with a girl that always liked the Inuit look.
A girl who loves knitting
and who makes the cutest little baby conforters.
"May you have warmth
in your igloo,
oil in your lamp
and pease in your heart"
- inuit proverb
Link
Then, sometime in the rainy autumn
she landed in the land of tulips and clogs
in the house of Parker the cat and its owner
where she got to listen to lots of jazz... Link
Then it spent some great time
in the middle-west of Germany
with her who initiated the great idea of
the travelling journals.
Hedvig got to wach her making lots of lovely things
working in, and playing with paper. Link

And so, Hedvig arrived with the winter in Sydney
down on the other side the globe.
She spent her days close to the sea
in the house of a sweet and thrifty girl
who enjoyed making toyrabbits for her friends! Link
From Australia
Hedvig, the travelling journal
continued her journey to Asia.
To a mysterious woman
who made lovely calligraphy. Link
And then off to Lucy the dog
and her owner
who LOVED HER LIFE!
This was in September of 2008
and the following month
the host (on the picture)
a designer and authiur of books
was to turn 40... Link
Happy birthday to you, Dawn a bit late!!
Then my book Hedvig flew back to Europe
and landed in the home of
an ocenographer
(whos father now is a bird)
who loves
paper, facric, stones, sand, leafs, people, kids and toys... Link
Finally, on her long, long journey around the globe
Hedvig spent spring 2009
with Dixie the cat
in a house with a lovely little garden
listening to TRUMPET-music! Link
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
All the girls that have hosted my travelling jourmnal
have also had their own journals travelling around.
They have all been here visiting with me in Sweden
and I have gotten the oportunity to write in each one of them
about my life and my dreams and my country.
I am the second to have my journal
coming back home to me.
The other are still out there travelling.
Thank you so much, all of you girls
for sharing your life with me
by writing in my little book
and making it magic!!
And welcome back home Hedvig!

WHO...
...has the energy, the wallet and the skill...
...to take care of this magical house from 1763 ...
in a 2,45 acre garden close to the sea on Gotland?
Information here!
No... I wouldn´t
choose buying this house,
although I know that
in the right hands
it will be transformed into a PARADIZE!
I looked some more
for houses and fell in love
with this house.

I am painting a dress with white flowers.
Different
Having grown up in the country in a house,
this living in an apartment still feels strange to me.
In an apartment you need another discipline
with your things.
Since the space is limited,
you can not keep buying things,
or you can not keep saving things.
I understand these things.
Making space
We needed to make room
1. in our storage in the basement for our bikes.
2. We still need to make room
for Noak and ONLY Noak
in the crowded little room up here in our home.
3. And we needed to create space and order in our closet.
Grrrr!
So... in the last few days
we have been getting rid of things.
This is very emotional for me.
A weak spot.
I loose my temper,
get really frustrated - and even angry!
I get angry when my man wants to
throw things away and I think;
-"This thing was expensive buying and it is very BAD economy throwing it away. We ought to sell it! (or give it to someone we know that would appreaciate it)"
-"This could be useful for someboby else, we ought not to throw it, but to give it away."
-"I can not use this now (no space)
but I like (maybe even LOVE) it,
and this is not just any thing, that you could go out and buy again.
And these things that are so dear to me can often be very tough to explain
why they are. But believe me they are!!!"
I like!
I like space and light
so that I can breath and think.
I love being surounded by beautiful things.
-And things that tell stories,
things that I feel connected with and rooted in.
I feel confortable in a creative and personal-looking home.
(Love how creative people
find second uses of old things!
My mother has always been doing
lovely things from things
she´s found or that has been thrown away)
I love finding the right spot in the home
for a certain an item,
a place that looks as though it was meant for it.
I´ld like to have order in my home;
If everything in the home had it´s place
and all familymembers knew, enjoyed and respeced those places
it would be nice - it would save lots of time.
It would also look so much better...
Dislike
I very much dislike vaste of time,
of things and resorses.
I very much dislike uglyness
and short term thinking,
when people don´t plan.
When people don´t know what they want...
most things they purchase turn out wrong,
do not fit.
Things that do not fit are ugly.
They just contribute to a huge, unconfortable MESS.
Attic
I do BELIEVE that
things I have no use of at the moment
can very well be useful later on...
(I used to find Mothers clothes from the fifties
in the attic when I was a teenager
and wear them with great joy.)
Things that you let rest for a while
become like new!
Yes I love attics and therefor - also -
I am in a desperate need of a house!
It is possible I may keep writing on this post to make it clearer and more complete.

Gardenday
Oh yesterday!
It was a gardenday at Noaks kindergarden.
Parents, children
and the lovely personel
where there
cleaning the garden.
Things you do in a garden in spring.
We met at ten.
A little café opened up
after two hours of work
in the shade of the trees
with goddies made by parents.
Children were playing.
Parents were talking with eachother.
It was souch a wonderful place to be at.
My man and another man
made a little orchestra
performing their own children-songs...
A walk
And today
we decided to take a Sundaywalk
in the surroundings of Noaks kindergarden.
First around the lake.
Then up some streets very close by.
Walked up a hill.
Hundred years old wooden houses
with charm and little towers
in blooming gardens.
That house
On a sign at a gate
I recognized the names
of one of the familes
we had met yesterday.
I could hear them
working in their garden
so I couldn´t help myself
but had to say HI.
Helenas smile was
as warm as yesterday
and she asked us in.
Into their paradize.
And into her house.
Oh that house!
You should have seen that house.
Reflecting a happy life.
Very untidy
but we both agreed on that
messy was OK
as long as you´re surrounded
by a mess of beautiful things.
Never thought of that.
But true!
Haven´t seen souch a beautiful house
since I can´t remember when.
Palegreen wallpaper with
floral pattern in gold.
Her paintings.
Space, light, wit and personality.
Back outside Helena said to Noak
that she expected him to come play
in their garden
many, many times...

Once I pretended.
I walked into Nordiska Galleriet, one on my favouriteshops here in Stockholm.
They sell furniture.
Instead of being devistated by the prices that didn´t sute my wallet at all -
I pretended I could have ANYTHING!
It felt good walking around in there with that attitude :)
Nevertheless, I just walked out with a handful of gems...
One of the things I desired was this sofa (but in other, more fun colors)
designed by Hella Jongerius for Vitra.
Today I walked by this beautiful table at Bukowskis.
If I was to pretend again, I would pick that too!

This is not a CAPUCHA

This cape I´m wearing alot this winter.
It is very warm wool.
It can be turned inside out
and become black if I want.
I use my green beret
instead of the hood that can be
buttoned on to it.
This cape is used by shepards
I was toled when I bought it
twentytwo years ago
in a little shop
on the portugese countryside.
Read Saloias blog today
about the Portugese capucha!
